About the challenge

We believe that AI agents can revolutionize how people interact with their finances. This hackathon challenges you to create intelligent, autonomous AI agents that leverage the bunq API to solve real banking problems or enhance existing services.

We're looking for solutions that go beyond simple chatbots or automation scripts. Your AI agent should demonstrate intelligence, adaptability, and provide genuine value to users. Whether it's helping users save money, make informed investment decisions, simplify expense tracking, or something entirely new – the possibilities are endless. This is your opportunity to shape the future of banking interactions and potentially see your creation integrated into the bunq ecosystem.

Requirements

What to Build

A simple chatbot isn't going to cut it. Show us what you've got, bring your skills and unique ideas to the table. You're encouraged to use cutting edge tools such as MCP servers to bring a new edge to this hackathon. It's also more than welcome to build something entirely different - we've built our whole Crypto platform in a month. Maybe you'll bring out our new feature in our next update? Don't feel constrained by traditional banking applications—we're open to revolutionary ideas that might not fit neatly into fintech but could transform how users interact with bunq in ways we haven't even imagined yet.

What to Submit

  • A 3-5 minute video demo
  • The name and description of your project
  • A Github repository link so that we can judge the quality of your submisison
  • Live demo link (optional)
